Divorce can happen to anyone who is in an unhappy marriage. It has recently
come to light that Nikki Reed of the "Twilight Saga" series
has filed for a divorce from her husband, 29-year-old Paul McDonald. McDonald
became famous from his stint on "American Idol" as a contestant.
Their separation occurred in March 2014.
Reed has been seen with Derek Hough, who is famous for being on "Dancing
with the Stars," and she may be dating this person despite the
divorce not yet being finalized. It might be over soon, however - papers have
been filed to have the separation legally finalized in Los Angeles Superior
Court. The paperwork was filed on May 23rd.
The court documents state irreconcilable differences, and they also stipulate
that McDonald not be given any type of spousal support.
McDonald and Reed were married in October 2011. They seemed to be deeply
in love after a whirlwind romance. They both agreed at the time of the
separation that their split was friendly.
They officially announced their separation two months ago, and they are
currently working on an album together that will feature both of them.
The name of the album is "I'm Not Falling," which may be
a sign that they remain good friends and that they are still working together.
In the past, Reed has said that their love of music is what kept them together
and that she put her husband first before everything.
She also said in the past that it was easy to lose track of what is important
in life when you live the Hollywood lifestyle of making movies and going
on tour. She stated that, in the past, it was important to her to be with
McDonald and to make each other their priority.
Having the assurance that your assets, which you worked hard to obtain,
are in good hands when it comes to a divorce is comforting. Arizona residents
do not necessarily need to be celebrities to take action in ensuring that
their assets are protected during a divorce.
