Adoption Made All the Difference in 1 Woman's Life in Arizona

When her 9-year-old daughter was in the Phoenix Children's Hospital in Arizona for minor surgery, one woman's life changed forever. A social worker called and asked if she could take a 3-month-old girl who needed a foster home. The woman had six special-needs, foster kids at her home and she hesitated briefly.

She agreed to take the baby if she could keep her for the baby's entire life; in other words, to adopt her fully and completely. The baby had been rescued from an abusive home and the social worker told her that an older brother of the baby was in the hospital and could possibly die that night due to a beating he had received.

He made it through the night and she began to visit the youngster in the hospital and brought his baby sister to visit as well. Every time the baby made a noise the boy stopped his almost constant trembling. She began to bring some of her other children and soon the boy was able to come to her home for good. She is a single parent to all the kids she has in her house, adopted or foster, and loves it.

She began to realize that she cared about children when, as a teacher, she became acquainted with a girl who needed a foster home for a night. She agreed and after that, went and got the needed training and license to have other foster children in her care.

She has become quite familiar with adoption. Of course, things often get a bit scattered and life becomes slightly unorganized. She finds it difficult to be at every activity each child is involved in, but she makes time every week for each of her children. She has found her life's passion in adopting children.

Adoption is a way to change a life forever, both yours and the child you may be adopting.
