Child support payments can be a valuable source of help to a parent when
it comes to providing their children with the things and the care that
they need. Given this, one can imagine how utterly disheartening it would
be for a parent to be subjected to a failure to pay ordered child support
by an ex-spouse or an ex-partner. Talking to a knowledgeable family law
attorney is something that parents who have been the victim of non-payment
of child support may find helpful. Such attorneys can give such parents
information about the
child support enforcement process and may be able to take actions to help expedite enforcement.
There are several different actions courts and authorities can take when
it comes to child support enforcement. Some such actions can lead to a
delinquent parent facing jail time.
Recently, a rather dramatic arrest was made here in Arizona of a man accused
of having a large child support debt.
The man in question is a 47-year-old man from San Tan Valley. According
to authorities, the man owes around $25,000 in back-due child support.
In relation to these allegations, a court in Maricopa County issued a
warrant against the man. Then, last Thursday, police went to the man's home.
When police arrived, the man attempted to flee from them. This flee attempt
took the man onto a nearby golf course. Police used a golf cart during
the subsequent chase. Police eventually caught up with the man and placed
him under arrest. It will be interesting to see what happens next in this case.
